Walk-up video broadcasting and monetization startup. Enables both live and uploaded broadcasting as well as live, streaming on-demand, download, and DVD video purchasing.
For the back-end, we built a custom CDN (Content Delivery Network) for dynamically scalable live streaming at incredibly low cost by using Wowza Flash server technology and hosting it on Amazon EC2 instances. In order to archive streamed content and enable on-demand & download consumption, we built an encoding and conversion system using FFMpeg. For monetization of video content, we built a custom payment system, making use of a 3rd-party service for securely storing credit card information.
For the front-end of the site, we used Ruby on Rails and a couple of markup languages called Haml and Sass to enhance clarity and scalability. To create embeddable video players, we built custom Flash applications.
Equine industry technology company providing full horse motion-capture through the use of hardware, combined with signal processing and user interfaces, with the end goal of lameness detection.
We were initially called upon to develop a user interface for displaying processed data to the end user in MATLAB. Our team developed a robust model-view-controller custom application in MATLAB. Once the user interface was complete, we were hired to re-work the signal processing algorithms. From there, the project scope was increased to include a full re-write of the hardware firmware and desktop control software.
Virtual Patient Management system for the healthcare industry. Guardian applies technology to engage patients in improving their care.
Guardian came to us with a working prototype of their patient management system. We worked with their existing team to understand the unique needs of their platform, and aided in their production platform decisions. With the key technologies determined, we engaged in a ground-up rewrite of the entire web application, including a full suite of application tests to ensure application stability. The entire rewrite and deployment of the production-ready system was completed in less than one month.
